Morry the Moore’s Opera House Mouse is a children’s illustration book based on a mouse that scurried around the University of Houston’s opera house. It combines a painterly, renaissance palette with the vibrant and electric forms seen in a Frank Stella mural. The thirty-two page book was created digitally with Clip Studio Paint, with all original characters. The environments were inspired by real locations at the Moore’s Opera House, but enhanced with a more magical ambience.
Hyfen is a series of illustrations made for a chronicle of mixtapes. The art style was curated for an audience of electric dance music listeners. The subject is a sihlouetted protagonist who wanders through a journey of turmoil, self-discovery, and finding love. His experience is represented through high contrast landscapes, and splattered geometric shapes. As his journey resolves, the illustration shifts to a more familar, down-to-earth scene of finding love.
